The Han Dynasty belonged to Jiangxia County in Jingzhou, which was first divided into Anlu and Shaxian counties; later it was placed in Chaoyang County and renamed Anlu County.
In the seventeenth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (597 AD), Chaoyang was renamed Hanjin County; in the second year of Daye (606 AD), Hanjin was renamed Hanyang County.
