Nanning's specialties include mango, Laoyou powder, Hengxian jasmine tea, litchi, Nanning roast duck, Zhuangjin, Hengxian rice dumpling, Wuming longan, Mashan honey pear, pineapple, lemon duck and rice dumplings.
1. Mango
Nanning is rich in mangoes. The mangoes produced here are tender in texture, sweet in taste, thin and juicy in skin, and are high-grade tribute fruits. Mango has oval fruit, yellowish skin and orange flesh, and the life span of the tree can reach three or four hundred years.
2. Roasted duck in Nanning
Roasted duck in Nanning, Guangxi, has a very long history. It first appeared in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, and Nanning Roasted Duck and Beijing Roasted Duck represented the northern and southern factions of China Roasted Duck. The raw materials of Nanning roast duck are mostly local sesame ducks in Nanning. The roast duck produced is bright and red in color, oily and bright, crispy in skin, tender and sweet in meat, and fragrant and mellow in turpentine.
3. Zhuang Brocade
Zhuang Brocade, which was first produced in the Tang and Song Dynasties, is the most famous local handicraft in Nanning, with a strong local ethnic style. She used colorful silk threads as weft and primary color spun yarn as warp, and carefully spun it, thus producing magnificent brocade, which has been passed down to this day.
4. Zongzi in Hengxian County
Zongzi in Hengxian County is a special food in Nanning, Guangxi, with a long history. There is a saying in Hengxian County that "no Zongzi can make an adult". Da Zongzi is made of high-quality glutinous rice, mung bean and pork, and is famous in Guangxi for its big and plump body, bright color and delicious taste. In recent years, tourists and merchants have come here, and the demand is in short supply. Generally, they are listed in August of the lunar calendar and are often out of stock during the Spring Festival.
