Xiao Zhi is a snack in northern Fujian.

in Dongping town, Zhenghe county, Nanping city, Fujian province, when a banquet is held on holidays, the first dish on the wine table is a small arm, which is said to be "nothing without a small arm is impossible". The main raw materials for making small bones are fat meat, cassava flour, sugar, tofu, eggs or duck eggs. In which dynasty did the history of making Dongping Xiaozi originate? During the Song Dynasty and the political period, Zhu Xi's father Zhu Song was a county commandant. During an unannounced visit to Dongping, he stayed in a butcher's house. At night, he felt unwell and his limbs were weak. The butcher's wife was good at cooking. She chopped the fat pork into fine powder, mixed it with starch and sugar as stuffing, wrapped the egg skin and steamed it in a steamer, and gave it to Zhu Song for tasting.

It is fresh and refreshing, oily but not greasy, and fragrant and sweet. After eating it, Zhu Song felt refreshed and full of praise, and wrote a poem: Although diseases and demons are entangled, vegetables and bones are spiritual dishes. Ask you where to find it, in the middle of Dongping. Later, people called this snack Xiao Zhi.
