Xiang pigs are mainly stocked and often eat green feed such as weeds and fragrant rice. The concentrate is glutinous rice bran, corn, broken rice, barnyard grass, etc. The green and juicy feed is taro, sweet potato vine, cassava and so on. After cooking, feed it very thin.

Each sow (2 ~ 4 months old) consumes an average of 0.2 kg of concentrated feed and green feed 1 kg per day. Pregnant and lactating sows consume an average of 0.4 kg of concentrated feed and 2 kg of green feed per head every day, with less feed consumption. The feed of Xiang pigs of origin is mainly cooked food, which can improve the utilization rate of feed after cooking.

The average weight of 6-month-old boars is 14.2kg, with a body length of 65cm, a body height of 33cm and a chest circumference of 55cm. Sows weigh 30 kg at the age of 8 months, with a body length of 70 cm, a body height of 47 cm and a bust of 73 cm. The slaughter rate of fattening Xiang pigs is 63.6%, and the lean meat rate is 52.2%.
