Lianyungang Oriental Hospital and Lianyungang Foreign-related Hospital were established in 1939, and 1959 was designated as foreign-related hospitals by the provincial health department. They are the only foreign-related hospitals in northern Jiangsu. In the past 50 years, the hospital has successfully completed tens of thousands of foreign-related medical services and won a high international reputation for the motherland with impressive achievements. In 1980s, the hospital was renamed Lianyungang Third People's Hospital and Lianyungang Red Cross Hospital, and was renamed Lianyungang Oriental Hospital on 1994.
