You may rarely hear about the fright, which is one of the 24 solar terms. It is also the third solar term in the twenty-four solar terms of the lunar calendar, marking the beginning of mid-spring. Before, I remember to introduce you to the traditional food and health food of other solar terms. Next, let's take a look at what traditional foods we eat during the fright season.
1. Pears
It is a folk custom in the north to eat pears in shock. Farmers want to eat pears on the day of fright, which means parting from pests. Spring returns to the earth, and the climate is relatively dry, which makes people thirsty easily. Raw pears are cold and sweet, and have the effects of moistening lung, relieving cough, nourishing yin and clearing heat, so pears are especially suitable for eating in this season.
2. Eggs
In addition to eating pears, there is also a folk saying that people eat eggs when they are startled. It is said that this day is a sacrifice to white tigers, and white tigers usually open their mouths with their teeth. Only when they are fed with eggs, they will not hurt people after they are full. After evolution, the eggs that were originally fed to the white tiger are now fed to people themselves.
It is not advisable to eat more than three egg yolks per week, except for protein, and you should not consume more than 3 mg of cholesterol per day. It turns out that protein contains neither fat nor cholesterol, and it is a food close to pure protein, so the intake of protein is not restricted like egg yolk.
3. Stir-fried beans
In Shaanxi, some areas want to eat stir-fried beans after being shocked. People soak soybeans in salt water and stir-fry them in the pot, making a crackling sound, symbolizing the jumping sound of insects when they are heated and tortured in the pot.
Soybeans are really cheap and good quality. For women, the isoflavones contained in them can produce similar effects as estrogen hormones, lowering blood cholesterol, protecting the heart and preventing breast cancer and osteoporosis.
