Song Cheng, Hangzhou is one of the most lively places in Hangzhou except the West Lake Scenic Area, because there is a performance "romance of the song dynasty" that must be seen for a lifetime, and it also gives me a day to return your thousand-year crossing experience. Of course, as an ancient city modeled on Lin 'an in the Southern Song Dynasty, Hangzhou cuisine is everything.
The delicacies in the Song Dynasty can be said to cover all parts of the country, but the snacks in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, hangzhou dishes and the royal banquet in the Southern Song Dynasty are its unique street features. Walking in Song Cheng Street, you can try some special snacks such as Flower Boy Chicken, Song Saoyu Soup, Sun Erniang Steamed Bun Shop, Hand-made Rice Cake, Babao Tofu and Daoxiao Noodles.
But today, I visited Sunjiazheng Store, which is located in the downstairs of Song Cheng City. Sunjiazheng Store is the largest hotel in Song Cheng. The whole hotel is antique, and it smells like a teahouse and wine shop in the past. I walked along the stairs to the largest private room on the second floor.
All the ornaments in the room are the frames of ancient buildings, such as carved doors and windows, calligraphy and painting, etc. If you put on ancient costumes, it will look like the Song Dynasty.
Sun Jiazheng's food is also a must. Apart from hangzhou dishes, there is also a series of royal banquets in the Southern Song Dynasty. Such as litchi white kidney, five treasures, milk house sign, south fried eel, crab stuffed orange, three crisp soup and so on are all fine products of the Southern Song Dynasty royal banquet series.
When it comes to the royal banquet in the Southern Song Dynasty, it is said that Zhang Jun, one of the four generals of Zhongxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, once hosted a grand banquet for Song Gaozong. For example, The History of Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty records: In October of the 21st year of Shaoxing, Emperor Gaozong was "lucky for Zhang Jun". Zhang Jun held a grand banquet in honor of Emperor Gaozong, leaving the largest and most complete banquet in the cooking history of China. Later, the menu of the royal banquet was carefully included in the "Wulin Old Events", so it was the spread of the Southern Song Dynasty royal banquet.
So, what you see in the imperial banquet is basically cooking according to the ingredients of the past. Perhaps the difference is only the difference of seasonings, but a taste of the imperial banquet in the Southern Song Dynasty may be an unforgettable experience for foodies.
