Jinci rice is produced in Jinci Town, Taiyuan. This kind of rice has long grains, large size, crystal clear and full appearance, translucent shape, slightly brown beige color, and the rice has clear grains and a fragrant aroma.
When eaten in the mouth, it tastes sweet, tough, sticky, and chewy.

During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Lei Jinning and his descendants for three generations had a Xingsheng Lei Beef Restaurant on Wenmiao Street in the city for more than a hundred years.
By the end of Guangxu's reign, Ren Dacai and his son Ren Yangwen set up their own beef shop on West Street in the city. The beef they produced was comparable to Xingsheng Lei beef, and both were authentic products.
