History of Bund 18:

1. The Bund 18 Building is located at Nanjing Road, Shanghai Bund. This building, formerly known as Macquarie Bank Building, was built in 1853. Macquarie Bank is headquartered in London, England, and its English name is Chartered Bank. It is a bank chartered by the British royal family for colonial business. When the bank set up a branch in Hong Kong, it was translated as "Standard Chartered Bank". 185711/kloc-0 set up a branch in Shanghai in October. Because the name of the first general manager was Macquarie, it was called Macquarie Bank.

2. The building was designed by Gonghe Foreign Firm and built by Dro Kaul, a British company. Covering area 1.755 m2 and building area 1.0256 m2. It has a reinforced concrete structure, and its appearance is the architectural style of Renaissance. The exterior wall is a three-stage facade, with neat granite at the bottom and carved iron gate at the center. The 2-4 floors in the middle part are relatively simple to handle, and the middle part is supported and decorated by two huge Ai Onek columns. More than five floors form the third section, and each window in the middle is decorated with two small stone pillars, echoing the two big pillars below. There is a platform on the roof. Macquarie Bank Shanghai Branch was merged into Hong Kong Branch after liberation, and Shanghai Housing Management Department took over the building on 1955 and renamed it "Chunjiang Building". Users are: Shanghai Household Textile Company, China Wave Shipping Company, Shanghai Fisheries Bureau and Fishery Association.

3. The four ancient Greek marble columns at the entrance of the restored Bund 18 building are original and mysteriously come from the Italian church 200 years ago. Two special three-meter-high red glass chandeliers are all assembled from hollow glass tubes, and each lamp is assembled from 185 parts. The dazzling 24-carat Massek murals in the hall are all hand-made. It has been built into an internationally renowned center of fashion, jewelry, watches, food, entertainment and art.
