The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Xiaodongjiang from mid-April to early May. The cherry blossoms along the coast are in full bloom, and the pink petals fall in the river, which is very romantic. From July to September, the morning fog caused by the day and night temperature changes is mysterious and beautiful, which is the best place to watch. September to November is autumn, the sky is blue, the sun is shining, the river is crystal clear, and the maple leaves along the river turn into golden yellow, red and orange, forming a colorful scene.

Xiaodongjiang is a first-class tributary of Meihua River, which originates from the south of Guanzhuang Mountain in Gaozhou. It is the only natural river that runs through Maoming from north to west, flows into Wuchuan from Shi Bi, and joins Meihua River at the new estuary.
