Myanmar's specialty snack - Burmese glutinous paste
Burmese glutinous paste is a new year food eaten during Myanmar's "Tammin Nei Pai" (Nuo paste Festival).
Ingredients:
500 grams of glutinous rice, 100 grams of coconut meat, 25 grams of shredded ginger, 50 grams of minced garlic, 10 grams of cooked peanut kernels, 50 grams of cooked sesame seeds, 50 grams of peanut oil.
Production method:
1. Rinse and wash the glutinous rice and soak it in water for 1 to 2 hours. Cut the coconut meat into 3 cm long slices with a knife.
2. Add peanut oil to the pot and place it on a high fire until it is cooked, add shredded ginger and minced garlic and stir-fry, then pour in the glutinous rice and water (the water should cover the rice by 3 cm) and bring to a boil. When the water is almost dry, add coconut flakes, sesame seeds and peanut kernels, stir well, and cook briefly with boiling water for a while until cooked. The finished product should be thick paste, and you can add some warm water as it cooks.
