Goldfish Street, located in Yau Tsim Mong District, Hong Kong, is a sightseeing and shopping place in Mong Kok. The site is a section of Tung Choi Street, which runs through Mong Kok Road to Shuiqu Street/Prince Edward Road West. Since 1950s, there have been many vendors selling goldfish and red worms near Mong Kok Station of Kowloon-Canton Railway. Later, they turned to Boundary Street and Huahui Road. In the mid-1970' s, goldfish vendors thought it was inconvenient to sell in the daytime. At that time, the rise of fish farming made them plan to move to a fixed store to continue their business. They chose Cai Tong Street from Mong Kok Road to Shuiqu Street as their base camp. Because they mainly sell goldfish, it is commonly known as goldfish street. At present, Goldfish Street has opened more than 40 franchise stores, specializing in ornamental fish, goldfish, koi fish, aquarium supplies and fish food, attracting many people interested in fish farming to visit and shop. It is worth noting that the shops along Goldfish Street have inherited the tradition of hawking in the past and will open early. Due to the crazy rent increase of the owners, nearly 30% goldfish shops in Goldfish Street closed down or moved out because they couldn't stand it. How to get to goldfish street
