The geographical location of Mahe Island
Mahe Island is the largest island in Seychelles. In the central and western Indian Ocean, it is located at 4 40 ′ S, 55 30 ′ E, and 1, 584 km west of Mombasa Port in East Africa. The island is 27 kilometers long and 8 kilometers wide, with an area of 145 square kilometers. There is a ring road on the island, and five winding mountain roads cross the east and west, which constitutes its entire ground transportation network. The international airport is in the east, about 15 minutes away from city of victoria, the capital of the northeast. This is a granite island with rugged terrain, and its residents live on a narrow coastal plain. On the misty mountain peak, the trees are sparse and the scenery is beautiful. The economy is dominated by tourism, agriculture and fisheries. Production of coconut, vanilla, cinnamon and other cash crops and corn, potatoes and other food. Beautiful mountain scenery and charming beaches. Mahe Island also has world-class natural baths. The beach is wide and flat, with clear water and white sand.
