The ancestor of Liu surname in Yiwu can be traced back to Liu Hui, the grandson of Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Liu Hui is the son of Liu Xiu's eldest son, Liu Qiang. After his mother, Queen Guo, was abolished, Liu Qiang was also demoted as the king of the East China Sea. One year before his death, Liu Qiang took his son Liu Hui to visit him, met Liu Hui, and named him "King of Yiyang" and "King of Wu Shangjun".
