The flag-raising point at the southern end of the square now stands the highest flagpole in the world, reaching 1 meters. At the other end of the square is a rest place composed of fountain, colonnade and flower bed, and the Plaza Putra under the square is an underground food and entertainment street.

On one side of the wide square are European-style lawns and Dutch-style buildings, and on the other side is the ancient Adul Samad building, which is totally halal.

St. Mary's Catholic Church next to it is a Gothic building that has been in existence for over a hundred years. A short walk to the Memorial Library, built in 199. Prince Square, below Independence Square, is a center for food, leisure and entertainment.
