Shapowei is a place name familiar to old Xiamen people. It is not only a treasure house for storing old Xiamen people's cultural memories about fishing ports, but also a network celebrity block where tourists must punch in, and it is also a dreamland full of surprises.
Beauty of "Being Born" and "Entering WTO"
Walking slowly along the wooden plank road in the typhoon shelter, the slightly moist wind brushed my cheek, bringing a fresh and sweet taste unique to the sea.
The fishing boat swayed gently, and the colorful shadows of the boat were reflected in the water, mixed with the clouds in the sky and the flowers on the shore to form a beautiful pattern. Occasionally, egrets skim over the water, chirping a few times, carefree, people can not help but think of flying, and have a sense of "birth".
But when you take back your thoughts and look back, you can see colorful and interesting graffiti on the wall and see all kinds of secondary cultural and creative goods. Young people's laughter echoed in it, releasing infinite vitality.
The charm of Shapowei lies in its "versatility". The alternation of "birth" and "entry into WTO", the fusion of trendy culture and ancient memories, and the rich layering and texture of Shapo tail constantly surprise people, just like a bustling dream, which makes people intoxicated and linger.
In fact, as attractive as the prosperity of Shapowei today is the gorgeous transformation of Shapowei. Turn over the dusty history and step into the old dream of Shapo tail, and you will find a Shapo tail different from today.

Transformation from Yushapo to Industrial Zone
In the old days, Xiamen Port was an arc-shaped bay like a crescent moon, so the sea sand was as fine as gold, so it was called "Emerald Sand Slope". Shapowei is the end of this beautiful new moon and an excellent haven.
In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Zheng Chenggong stationed troops in Yanwuchi near Shapowei, and respectfully invited three statues of Mazu in Chaozong Palace to board the ship to escort, which opened the heroic road of expelling Dutch invaders and recovering Taiwan Province. These three statues of Mazu once accompanied Zheng Chenggong to recover Bao Dao, and were later enshrined in the orthodox Temple of Notre Dame de Luermen in Tainan, which witnessed the fate of cross-strait ferries.
In the Ming Dynasty, the sea was forbidden, and the Zheng family carried out foreign trade alone by virtue of maritime power, so Xiamen Port, which was in a corner, became an important foreign trade port at that time.
At that time, there were no shops and beautiful wooden plank roads at Shapowai, only stone roads that had been baptized by years, fishing boats that came in and out every day and a group of simple fishermen. They get up early and get greedy for the dark, make a living by the ups and downs of the waves, and expect to repay their families who pray and bless them at the ferry every day with full fishing boats.
With the passage of time, many handicrafts, such as shipbuilding, ironing and juice dyeing, have appeared on the shore of Shapo tail, which is like a small-scale fishery service supply network. If it hadn't been invaded by the Japanese army later, perhaps Shapowei's fishery would have a better future.
Shapowei, after liberation, moved forward in a withered and dilapidated state. Following the pace of New China, it not only restored the prosperity of fishery, but also became one of the three major industrial zones in Xiamen. Power plants, aquatic products processing plants and electromechanical shipyards have sprung up here, and Shapowei has become an important place to bear the memory of industrial civilization of Xiamen Port City.
Times are changeable. In the 1990s, the fate of Shapowei once again ushered in a change. Xiamen Island, with an inch of land and gold, is no longer suitable for developing traditional industries, and the relocation of factories is a foregone conclusion.
Since the mid-1990s, the fishing catch caused by the exhaustion of offshore fishery resources has dropped sharply, and the once prosperous fishing port has gradually declined. In 2003, the newly-built Yanwu Bridge blocked the entrance of Shapowei typhoon shelter, which made it impossible for large fishing boats to enter, and the fishery-related industries moved one after another, so the transformation of Shapowei was imperative.
20 15 The Siming District Government and Xiamen Ocean and Fisheries Bureau issued the Announcement on the Management of Shapowei Closed Typhoon Shelter in Xiamen Port to guide fishermen to retreat and change their production. The fishery development in Shapowei finally stopped.

Freshmen generate creative fireworks.
Returning to the silent Shapo tail is like a dusty pearl. What the world sees is the dilapidated factory buildings eroded by the sea breeze and the dirty streets with foul smell, but the wise Xiamen people have glimpsed the precious history and surging emotions under the ruins and reshaped Shapowei's prosperous dream with the wonderful hand of revival. While retaining the cultural value of Shapowei block, they rationally develop material space, improve economic benefits and take into account regional context, making Shapowei a brand-new cultural and creative port.
The popular culture of young people, such as "the grand view of the sea and the country, the coherence of things, the jade and sand, and the gathering of everything", has given new vitality to Shapo tail, which was originally full of inclusive spirit-the slope starting from the original site of the crane was turned into a skateboard park, the freezer was transformed into a performance space, the machine platform was changed into a small platform, and the young and interesting thinking constantly collided with wonderful sparks.
More and more young artists come here. They may like to play minority songs, or discuss experimental dramas, or sell their own food, or share interesting life experiences. Together with Shapowei, they publicize their uniqueness and show their infinite charm to the outside world.
This lively and lovely atmosphere is naturally captured by keen merchants. Creative bars, cafes, cake shops, handicraft shops, etc. are set up along the street, and tourists are in an endless stream and are very lively. The breath of literature and art floats in it, just like a dream, which fascinates the people in it.
