Teach you to drink brandy like a connoisseur in 3 minutes
Choose the right glass
It is very important to choose the right tasting glass, and the most suitable one is a short glass with a small mouth and big belly. This kind of brandy glass can show the color of the brandy well and let the brandy give out the aroma as it should; the closed mouth of the glass can also retain the aroma of the wine well.
Pouring the right amount
When pouring brandy, pour about a quarter of a cup, not too much, so as to leave enough room for the flavors of the brandy to develop.
Holding the glass correctly
The correct way to hold the glass is to jam the middle and ring (ring or index) fingers around the stem, with the palm of the hand resting slightly on the belly of the glass. The warmth of the palm allows the aromas and flavors of the brandy to develop more completely.
Watching the color
If you want to act like a serious connoisseur, raise the brandy glass to your eyes and carefully observe the color of the brandy.
Smelling
Put the mouth of the brandy glass close to your nose and gently sniff the rich aroma of the brandy. The reason for holding it close to your nose is to make it easier to identify the different aromas and flavors of the brandy; when you are not used to drinking spirits neat, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the scent of the spirits first, and taste it without stimulating your senses too much.
Small sips
If you are not used to drinking spirits, drinking a large mouthful of brandy will cause your taste buds to be strongly stimulated, and you will not be able to concentrate on analyzing the flavor of the brandy. Therefore, you should take a small sip and let the liquor glide through your mouth to maximize the taste buds to receive all the flavors. Once your taste buds have accepted the spirit, take a slightly larger sip and the flavors of the spirit will intensify.
