It is said that Chaotianguo has something to do with Zheng Banqiao. In those days, when Zheng Banqiao was in charge of Weifang, he was very concerned about the sufferings of the people. One year in the twelfth lunar month, he went to the market incognito understand the people's feelings. Seeing that farmers in Weixian market could not eat hot meals at that time, he ordered people to set up a big iron pot in the market and cook hot meals for passers-by, including chicken, pork belly, pork intestines, meatballs and dried tofu. When the soup boiled and the meat was rotten, customers sat around the pot. The cook in charge of the pot scooped up the hot soup, added some coriander and soy sauce, and prepared pancakes for his own use. Because the pot has no cover, people call it "Chaotianguo".

Take the pot table as the table, and the eater sits around the pot, eating pancake meat (from pigs), meatballs and eggs, and drinking soup with a wooden spoon, accompanied by pickles and onions.
