The crust of ordinary moon cakes is first swept with a layer of egg juice (or milk juice) and then baked. The crust is thin and has the fragrance of eggs and cakes.
Of course, there are also cakes with a thick crust (close to 5mm). In Malaysia, we call them "Shanghai moon cakes", which were created by a master from Shanghai. The taste is more crisp and the egg fragrance is overflowing.
As for whether it is delicious or not, it depends on your taste.
If you don't like cakes with soft taste, and you like the smell of cakes with egg yolk, you will naturally feel that mooncakes with ice skin are not delicious.
However, as far as health is concerned, the oil content of ice-covered moon cakes is relatively low, which is healthier than ordinary moon cakes and less prone to obesity. Of course, eating hard will still make you fat, hehe! )
