Easter is on the first Sunday after the full moon at the vernal equinox every year. Christians believe that Easter symbolizes rebirth and hope, to commemorate the day when Jesus Christ was resurrected on the third day after he was crucified between 30 and 33 AD.
During the festival, people exchange Easter eggs, symbolizing life and prosperity. Because the vernal equinox is not fixed every year, the exact date of Easter is uncertain. But the festival period is roughly between March 22 and April 25.

In the Middle Ages, all Christians celebrated the sunrise of Easter, because according to the ancient legend, on the morning of Easter, the sun jumped happily three times to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, and the light from the clouds danced like an angel. On Easter morning, people in Europe gather in the wilderness or at the top of the mountain to watch the sunrise. At dawn, guns and bells ring. Bands and hymns celebrate the rising sun symbolizing the rise of Jesus with hallelujah and hymns. Until now, this habit of paying tribute in the morning still exists in the Austrian Alps.
