An octogenarian refers to a very old person. In ancient times, there were differences in how men and women called their age. Generally speaking, men were called "Shou", while women were not called "Shou" and were generally called "Fu". There is an ancient plaque in Fulexia Caiyuan Village, Luoping, Yunnan, which reads "Qi Yiren Rui", which says that an old woman named Wang in the village once lived to be more than a hundred years old, so she was given this title.
