2. Dahongpao, like Tieguanyin, is a semi-fermented tea, which is made by taking mature leaves with three to four leaves, withering, turning, drying and other processes;
3. After picking, screening and charcoal roasting for two or three times, the made coarse tea finally forms the Dahongpao of Wuyi Rock Tea. Therefore, the production process of Dahongpao is quite complicated.
4. "Dahongpao" is named after a very touching story. It is said that during the Ming Dynasty, when a juren passing through Wuyi, his abdominal pain suddenly became unbearable. After the monks of Tianxinyan Tianxin Temple gave him tea bubbles grown on the rocks next to the temple, his illness died, and this juren later won the first prize. In order to thank the monks, the first prize winner specially went to Tianxin Temple to worship and put his first prize robe on that plant to save his life.
