Jiangxi Tobacco Bureau does not belong to the party and government organs, and it is also different from the party and government organs in administrative level. Jiangxi Tobacco Bureau is an agency of the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau in Jiangxi Province, directly under the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau. Its director level is the leadership level of the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau.

The Tobacco Monopoly Bureau was established in 1984 and co-located with China Tobacco Corporation. Unified leadership, vertical management and monopoly management system shall be implemented for the national tobacco industry, and centralized and unified management shall be implemented for people, finance, materials, production, supply, sales, internal, external and trade of the whole industry.
