2. In the early years of the Republic of China, a group of people from Lanxi, Zhejiang Province came to Jiaxing. They operated the cotton-playing business in winter, and in spring and summer, they picked zongzi and carried them around the streets to sell them. In the tenth year of the Republic of China (1921), Zhang Jinquan opened the first "Wufangzhai Zongzi Shop" in Zhangjia.
3. A few years later, two Jiaxing people, Feng Changnian and Zhu Qingtang, opened two "Wufangzhai" zongzi shops in the same lane. The three shops were named as "Rongji", "Heji" and "Qingji" respectively, and they competed fiercely in the selection of materials and techniques of zongzi.
4. The technique of Zongzi is becoming more and more mature, and it has formed a distinctive feature of "glutinous but not sticky, fat but not greasy, fragrant and delicious, and moderate in saltiness and sweetness", becoming the "King of Zongzi" famous in the south of the Yangtze River. In 1956, the three stores merged into a "Jiaxing Wufangzhai Zongzi Store", which has been passed down to this day.
