China is the world's first country to domesticate chickens, with a history of at least four thousand years. Chicken bones or ceramic chickens from more than 4,000 years ago have been found in Hubei, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan and Gansu provinces. Chinese domestic chickens were domesticated from pheasants, and there are many fine varieties, among which the Jiujin Huang and Wolf Mountain chickens are very famous. Jiu Jin Huang, also known as Pudong chicken, produced in Shanghai Nanhui, Fengxian, Chuansha area, is a large broiler, feathers, beak, feet are yellow, so it is also known as the three yellow chicken. Nine catties of yellow, individual extra-large, meat flavor, and therefore welcomed by the people of the world, the world's domestic chicken breed improvement played a great role.
First introduced into Britain in 1843, imported into the United States in 1847. The American Rock Chicken is a cross between the Chinese nine catty yellow and the black and white spotted American chicken in 1865. In Japan, Chinese chicken breeds were introduced during the Sui Dynasty, and at the end of the Shogunate period, Jiu Jin Huang chickens from Shanghai were introduced and bred into the famous Nagoya egg-meat-combined chicken.
