Extended information

Because the growth of shrimp has requirements on water temperature and salinity, the temperature must be maintained between 24°C and 27°C, and can only be grown in seawater or fresh salt water. They grow in a certain environment, and the growth rate of shrimp is relatively slow. Therefore, shrimps in the north do not grow very big, and few people breed them.

The growth environment of Penaeus vannamei is more relaxed than that of shrimp. It can be cultured in pure fresh water, light salt water or sea water, thus breaking the geographical restrictions and can be cultured all over the country. Compared with Penaeus vannamei, Penaeus vannamei is more famous and recognized by people, but ordinary people and even traders are not particularly clear about the types of shrimp.
