Cangzhou City, referred to as "Cang", is a municipality in Hebei Province, located in the southeastern part of Hebei Province, east of the Bohai Sea, north of Beijing and Tianjin, south of Shandong, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the city, because of the east of the Bohai Sea and the name, which means Canghai state.

Cangzhou is located in the eastern part of the Jizhong Plain, with a low and flat terrain with little undulation, and a sea wave of up to 17 meters and down to 2 meters. Larger wetlands include the Nandagang Wetland and Birds Provincial Nature Reserve, the Haixing Wetland and Birds Nature Reserve, the Huanghua Municipal Tube Farm Wetland and the Tennant Dawa Wetland, the Renqiu Baiyangdian Wetland, and the Dalangdian Wetland in Nampi County.

According to the government's official website in July 2017, there are 37 families and 137 species of wild plants in Cangzhou, mainly in the family of Mulleinaceae, Cannabaceae, Liliaceae, Polygonaceae, Quinoa, Amaranthaceae, Rosaceae and Leguminosae.
