Crayfish culture: conditions
Crayfish has strong adaptability to the environment and can grow in lakes, ponds, river ditches, rice fields and other water bodies. The water source should be sufficient, and the water depth is about 1 m.
Ponds must have sufficient water, good water quality and convenient water intake and drainage, and the area is generally 3 mu to 5 mu. The embankment should have a certain slope, and the width of the embankment should be greater than 1.5 m to avoid crayfish escaping, and an escape wall or escape board with a smooth inner wall of 0.5 m should be set around the embankment. Some mud ridges were built in the middle of the pond, which provided a hole for crayfish. Note that both ends of mud ridge are not connected with pond ridge. The length of the mud ridge is about 4/5 of the pool length, the width of the ridge is more than 1 m, and the ridge is 5 cm ~ 10 cm above the water surface. The water depth of the pool should be 0.8m ~ 1.5m, preferably in the middle, surrounded by shoals, and roots and bamboo tubes should be placed at the bottom of the pool. Strictly disinfect before stocking, and apply 300~500 kilograms of decomposed livestock manure per mu. Aquatic plants accounting for 30% of the pond area are planted in the pond, such as Sophora alopecuroides, black algae, Eichhornia crassipes, water hyacinth and Alternanthera philoxeroides. It is convenient for crayfish to avoid enemy attacks and habitats when molting.
