According to the historical records of Lu 'an, the famous products listed in "Eating in the Garden" written by Yuan Mei, a poet in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, and folklore, Lu 'an melon slices evolved from the Qishan cloud in Lu 'an tea in the middle of Qing Dynasty, and the local people circulated the saying that the Qishan cloud started from the Mangshe Cave in the east, the Bat Cave in the west, the Golden Pot in the south and the Crystal Temple in the north.
The origin of Lu 'an melon slices is in the mountainous area around Qitou Mountain. It was listed as a famous product in Qing Dynasty, and sold well between Jianghuai and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Beijing and Tianjin, and has been exported to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States. 1997, Dushan Town, Yu 'an District, Lu 'an City began to restore the traditional craft of melon slices in Lu 'an on a pilot basis.
