Chemical composition: the root contains ardisic acid (C36H64-O 16) and bergenin (bulb saxifragin, C 14H 16-O9 is 2- tetrahydroxybutyl-4,6- dihydroxy -5- methyl).

Method: dry in the sun.

Tropism of nature and taste: bitter and flat.

Indications: clearing throat, relieving sore throat, removing blood stasis and relieving swelling. Indications: sore throat, traumatic injury, rheumatic bone pain.

Reference formula

1. Acute tonsillitis:

① Root and belamcanda chinensis12g, decocted in water and taken orally.

(2) dry and grind the root of Ipomoea japonica, and blow it into the throat with 1 g each time.

2. Wind-fire sore throat: 6 grams of root of Pterocarya octopoda, decocted in water, or frequently swallowed.

3. Trauma, carbuncle, swelling and poisonous snake bite: Diplodocus octopoda root15g, decocted in water. Mash the root bark for external use and apply it to the affected area.

4. Injury from falls: A proper amount of root of Ipomoea batatas, dried and ground, 6 grams each time, once in the morning and once in the evening, and served with winter wine.

5. Low back pain, muscle and bone pain: 6-10g of the root of Cynanchum octopetalum and 0/0-15g of the root of litchi, decocted in water and mixed with winter wine, one dose per day.

6. Osteomyelitis and bone tuberculosis (phlegm sticking to the bone): 30 grams of root of Ipomoea japonica, 30 grams of root of abacus and 30 grams of root of Sapium sebiferum, decocted in water, one dose per day.

7. Hemoptysis due to strain: 0/5g of root of Ipomoea batatas/kloc-,30g of In the snow, decocted in water.

8. Renal edema: 30 grams of root of Ipomoea batatas, one chick (head, feet, wings and internal organs removed), stewed in water, and eaten with soup.

pharmacological action

It has obvious inhibitory effect on influenza A virus, can significantly inhibit the growth of gram-negative bacteria and gram-positive bacteria, and has more obvious inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis and Proteus. Has obvious anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect.
