The Legend Story Composition of Mid-Autumn Festival 1 There are the following stories about the origin of Mid-Autumn Festival:
(1) the Goddess Chang'e flying to the moon
It is said that more than 4,000 years ago, there was a king of a poor country, Hou Yi, who was brave and good at shooting, but he was violent by nature and did not sympathize with the sufferings of the people, making the people miserable. Hou Yi wanted to live forever, and found the medicine for immortality from Kunlun Mountain, and prepared to swallow it another day. This was learned by Chang 'e. In order to show sympathy for his people and avoid the long-term cruel rule after the sale, he ate the medicine first, and suddenly he was as light as a swallow, flying high to the moon palace. Later Yi found out that Chang 'e and Chang 'e entered the Guanghan Palace with an arrow and became the moon god. 」
(2) Luna's birthday
August 15th is the birthday of Luna. Luna is a female god, and it is said that she is the spouse of Sun. China regards Chang 'e as the goddess of the moon, which represents beauty, kindness and all the beautiful characters that can represent women. The Mid-Autumn Festival is the birthday of Luna, and there are no temples dedicated to Luna in Taiwan Province, but they are all dedicated to Sun Gong Temple. On August 15th, at the Sun Temple in Neihu, Taipei, believers went to worship the Moon God. The general public set up incense tables in the outdoor courtyard to offer flowers, fruits, moon cakes, incense and gold, and set off firecrackers to worship the Moon. The whole family enjoyed the moon while eating moon cakes in a reunion atmosphere, which was called the "Yue Bai".
(3) Land public birthday
August 15th is not only the birthday of the Moon God, but also the birthday of the Land God. The Land God Temple will perform a performance to reward the God. Farmers put a "Land God crutch" in the field, using a bamboo stick with gold paper tied at the top. This bamboo stick is used as a crutch for the Land God when he walks, and pray for a better harvest next year.
(4) Overthrow the Yuan Dynasty
According to legend, at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the Han people in the Central Plains refused to be ruled by it, and patriots resisted the Yuan Dynasty in succession. Zhu Hongwu's strategist Liu Bowen asked his subordinates to pretend to be Taoist priests and sell symbols in various counties, and said: There will be a disaster this year, and those who want to avoid it can hang the sun and moon flag on August 15th, and the flag will be hidden in a big moon cake. On this day, people all over the country cut big moon cakes and hung up the flags hidden in them. Yuan people were surprised, and Zhu Hongwu succeeded in one blow, ending the rule of the Yuan Dynasty. Later, this sun and moon flag was the "Ming" flag. Another similar legend is that there is a piece of paper hidden in the moon cake, which says "Kill the Tartars on the night of August 15th". When everyone cut the moon cake, they saw this piece of paper, and everyone killed the Tartars together, and the Yuan Dynasty was overthrown.
Legend of Mid-Autumn Festival Composition 2 In China's lunar calendar, there are four seasons in a year, and each season is divided into three parts: Meng, Zhong and Ji, so the Mid-Autumn Festival is also called Mid-Autumn. The moon on August 15th is more round than the full moons in other months, so it is also called Moon Festival, Autumn Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, August Festival, August Festival, Moon Chasing Festival, Moon Playing Festival, Moon Worship Festival, Daughter's Day or Reunion Festival, which is a popular traditional cultural festival among all ethnic groups in China. On this night, people look up at the bright moon in the sky like jade, and naturally look forward to family reunion. Wanderers who are far away from home also take this opportunity to pin their thoughts on their hometown and relatives, so the Mid-Autumn Festival is also called "Reunion Festival".
In the Tang Dynasty, it was quite popular to enjoy and play with the moon in the Mid-Autumn Festival. In the Northern Song Dynasty, on the night of August 15th, people all over the city, rich and poor, old and young, put on adult clothes, burn incense in Yue Bai, express their wishes and pray for the blessing of the moon god. In the Southern Song Dynasty, people gave mooncakes to each other as a sign of reunion. In some places, people lived by dancing grass dragons and building pagodas. Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the custom of Mid-Autumn Festival has become more popular, and many places have formed special customs such as burning incense, planting Mid-Autumn Festival trees, lighting tower lanterns, putting sky lanterns, walking on the moon and dancing dragon.
There are many traditional festivals in China: Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Spring Festival. Among them, my favorite is the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Transmission, there used to be ten suns in the sky, which cracked the earth and dried up the river, making people unable to live. A hero named Hou Yi shot nine suns at once and saved everyone. People gave him an "elixir of life" to thank him. Hou Yi was reluctant to eat, so he gave it to his wife Chang 'e for safekeeping. There was an apprentice named Peng Meng in Houyi who was bent on getting this "elixir of life". One day, he pretended to be ill and took advantage of Hou Yi's hunting to force Chang 'e to hand over the "elixir of life". Chang 'e swallowed the "elixir of life" in a hurry and flew to the moon. From then on, Chang 'e and Hou Yi can only look at each other from a distance and miss each other.
Therefore, people call this day "Mid-Autumn Festival", and they worship the moon and eat moon cakes in succession on this day to pin their thoughts on their loved ones.
