Literary Appreciation<

The first line of the poem, "Three or two branches of peach blossoms outside the bamboo," shows a few branches of peach blossoms swaying across the sparse bamboos. Peach blossom and bamboo contrast, red and green cover, spring is particularly attractive. This is just a simple sentence, but it reveals a lot of information.

First, it shows the sparseness of the bamboo forest; if it were dense, you wouldn't be able to see the peach blossoms. Secondly, it shows the season, pointing out the word "early". It is not yet the time for the peach blossoms to bloom, but the infinite vitality and potential of spring has already been revealed.

The second line of the poem, "The duck is the first to know the warmth of the spring river", is visualized from far and near, that is, from the river bank to the river. The spring water on the river is rippling, and the active ducks are playing in the river water.

"Ducks are the first to know" is a side note that the water of the spring river is still slightly chilly, and thus all other animals are not yet sensitive to the arrival of spring, which echoes the peach blossom "three or two branches" in the first sentence, indicating the early spring season.

This line is a variation on a Tang Dynasty poem by Meng Jiao, "What is the first to know? After the spring rain," and Du Mu (Xu Hun), "The geese are warming up in Pugen, and the bees are not yet aware of the fragrance of the plum paths" (Boat Trips in Early Spring). Su Shi learns from the past but not mud, the former verses of the creation of meaning, coupled with the accumulation of their own observations, melted into this great line.

"Ducks know the warmth of the water" is the kind of appeal to the feelings and imagination of the things, the picture is difficult to convey, but the poet through the experience of being there, expressed in the poem. The ducks playing freely in the river are the first to feel the warmth of the spring water, and the tactile impression of "warmth" complements the visual impression of the rippling spring water in the painting.

The reason why ducks can "know the warmth of the spring river water" is that they live in the water all year round, and as long as the river is not frozen, it is always necessary to jump down and play in the teal water. Therefore, the first to know the spring river water temperature changes in nature is that these ducks have a close relationship with the water.

This shows that you have to experience everything before you can have real feelings. This poem not only reflects the poet's subtle observation of nature, but also unites the poet's philosophical thoughts on life.

Ducks know the warmth of the spring river, comparable to "a leaf falls to know the world's autumn", with a micro-knowledge, the reasoning of one to three.

The three or four lines of the poem: "Arthemisia vulgaris is full of short reed buds, it is the river dolphin wants to go on", these two lines of the poem is still closely linked to the "early spring" to describe, that full of Arthemisia vulgaris, short reed buds, yellow and green, colorful and charming, presenting a school of spring, The scene of spring is full of vigor and prosperity.

"The dolphin wants to go up" borrows the feature that the dolphin only goes upstream when the water of the river warms up in spring, further highlighting the word "spring", which is not available in the picture and difficult to reach by the brush, but the poet has succeeded in "writing the scenery as if it were in the present". But the poet has succeeded in "making the scene difficult to write about as if it were at present", injecting the whole picture with the breath of spring and the vitality of life.

Su Shi's student, Zhang Lei, also wrote in Mingdao Magazine that the natives along the Yangtze River ate puffer fish and cooked it "with Artemisia vulgaris, asparagus, reed shoots, and woad," believing that they were the most suitable match for puffer fish.

This shows that Su Shi's association is well-founded and natural. The beauty of the poem also depends on this. Although the picture does not depict the movement of the dolphin, but the poet from the piper betel artemisia bushes, reed buds and presumed to know "dolphins want to go up", thus drawing the image of dolphins in the spring when the river water up the river, with the imaginary imaginary supplemented the real world.

Su Shi is through such ink, the silent, static picture, into a sound, active poetry. In Su Shi's eyes, the painting is no longer a flat, static picture on paper within a frame, but an ecological sense of inner depth of experience and subtle, delicate observation.

The former is like a painting, the latter is realistic, and the two are mixed up, so I don't know what is a painting and what is a real scene. The poet's artistic associations broaden the world beyond the vision expressed by painting, making the perfect combination of poetic and pictorial feelings.

This poem successfully describes the scenery of the spring river in early spring. Su Shi, with his meticulous and keen feeling, captures the characteristics of the scenery at the time of seasonal change, and expresses his joy and salute to the early spring.

The whole poem is full of spring and vigor, giving people a fresh and comfortable feeling. The poet Su Shi proposed that "poetry and painting are the same, heavenly craftsmanship and freshness" ("Two Songs on the Folding Branches Painted by Master Wang of Yanling"), and that "there is a painting in the poem, and there is a poem in the painting" ("Dongpo's Inscription", Volume 5, "Smoke and Rain in Lantian, Mochizuki"), which is well recognized in his poem "Huichong Spring River". Evening Scene" in his poem "Huichong Spring River Evening Scene" has been well verified
