Muraenosaurus (genus name: Muraenosaurus), meaning "eel lizard", is a genus of shallow cryptodactyls that lived in England and France during the Middle Jurassic. Muraenosaurus was about 6 meters long, with a neck that was half its length, consisting of 44 cervical vertebrae, and a smaller head that was 37 centimeters long. The moray eel dragon had a short, inflexible body and strong flippers.
