Pick the fresh gourd and let it dry. You need to remove the outer layer of skin, otherwise it will become moldy.
Peeling steps:
1. Bamboo knives: These two bamboo knives are made by yourself. Take a thick bamboo and split it, then divide it into one large and one small, and cut the edges. Thin some parts with a knife. The big one is used for main scraping, and the small one is used for minor trimming after scraping.
2. Start peeling. When peeling, be sure to scrape it all at once from top to bottom. Remember not to scrape for a while and rest for a while, because in this case, the color of the peeled gourd will be different.
3. After peeling, wash the gourd with cold water. Before washing, be sure to add a little alkaline powder to the water, so that the dried gourd will not be easily deformed.
4. During the washing process, the first thing is to remove some of the small skin on the gourd skin, so that it will be smoother after drying.
5. After washing, dry the gourd and hang it in a cool place to dry. Ventilate but do not blow in strong wind. If it is blown dry, the gourd will be deformed in some places.
