Reading Bacon's Essays
The Essays of Bacon is written by Francis Bacon, a famous English thinker, statesman and empiricist philosopher in the 17th century. The book consists of chapters such as "On Truth", "On Death", "On Daring" and "On Selfishness". The content of the book covers politics, economics, religion, love, marriage, friendship, art, education and so on, touching almost every aspect of human life.

Reading Bacon's Essays has touched me y. In fact, I do not understand the content of each article, such as: "on religious unity", "on lending", "on the vicissitudes of the world" I can not understand its purpose is what, because it involves too wide a range of content, I am a junior high school students how to y taste a great literary masterpiece? With the help of the notes I still seem to understand some of the fur. But this is the skin but already let me feel a lot of emotions.

As the French humanist writer Michel de Montaigne said, "To know one's own ignorance is the surest way to know the world." My ignorance was on display after reading Bacon's Essays. On Truth taught me that "there is no greater joy in life than to be on the top of the fresh and pure 'Truth,' and to look down into the bottom of the valley with all its muse and confusion and clouds." On Death made me realize that death itself is not scary, but what is scary is everything that comes with it. On Adversity" made me realize that good times are easy to expose vices, while adversity can show virtues, and its casting quality is even more convincing. On Falsehood and Disguise showed me that sometimes we can "tell a lie to get the truth out of a lie". On Goodness and Sexual Goodness" taught me how to do good properly and what is the true and proper goodness. On Aristocracy" let me know the inner qualities and differences between the nouveau riche and the worldly family, and know that "the nouveau riche is baked with power, while the worldly family has withstood the baptism of time". On Tourism" made me realize that tourism is not just a recreational activity, it is an education for the young and an experience for the old. On Cunning" made me realize that cunning is not an evil, but also a skill full of wisdom. On Words and Talks" made me realize that the proper wording of words and the right way of speaking are better than eloquence and beautiful speeches. On Ambition" let me realize the true meaning of ambition, ambition can have a positive effect, it can make people enterprising, but ambition should not be too big. On Architecture has taught me the importance of siting buildings and all other aspects of architecture ....... At this moment, I suddenly realized that my ignorance is like a bottomless abyss, and all kinds of statements make me feel a lot.

But I am not able to understand all of them, and some of them are unexpected, and my heart is stuck. Such as "on marriage and celibacy", why the author so sure that "the burden of the family is difficult to achieve greatness, can only be at the mercy of fate, no matter for good or evil will not be able to become a climate, his wife and children will become a stumbling block to his action. Is this really the case? As in "On Boldness," why does the author affirm that boldness is the son of ignorance, the son of meanness, and a trick of equivocation? Is boldness not something that great men are capable of? As in "On Colonization," why does the author begin, "Colonization is the heroic performance of the first people." And so on. A lot of incomprehension may be my wrong understanding of the main idea of the article, or I'm not learned enough to appreciate its meaning, or even the author's point of view is relatively not in line with the current world ...... all kinds of questions and disagreements I think that perhaps only with the continuous growth of my experience will change it!

In any case, Bacon's Essays let me feel the noble will and extraordinary spiritual qualities of a man who was not influenced by the status of a noble family. He gave me a feast of thoughts and spiritual sublimation with his heartfelt words!
