Lotus is an extremely holy thing in Buddhist teachings. All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas sit on the lotus, with solemn statues and boundless Buddhism.
Lotus (Latin name: Nelumbo nucifera), a plant of Nymphaeaceae of Ranunculaceae, is generally distributed in subtropical and temperate regions. Lotus likes relatively stable calm shallow water, lakes, marshes, ponds, etc., likes light and is extremely intolerant of shade. Underground stems are long and thick, with long nodes and round leaves. The flowering period of the lotus is from June to September, and it is solitary at the top of the pedicel, with many petals embedded in the receptacle, with red, pink, white and purple colors. Petals are drop-shaped and seeds are oval. Lotus, hibiscus, Fantuoli flower, Shuizhi, Shuiyun, Shuimu, Zezhi, Shuihua and Handan were called Handan by the ancients, that is, bud, hydrangea, hibiscus, Yuhuan, June spring, Chinese lotus, June flower god, and so on.
