Morchella Planting Steps for Morchella Planting

1. Planting time. Because morels like to grow in low temperature and high humidity environments, they can grow normally as long as the temperature is kept within the range of 3-25 degrees, and the most suitable temperature for growth is within 15-18 degrees.

2. Preparation before planting. Before planting, we need to prepare suitable planting materials for morels. The preparation of cultivation materials is generally based on materials such as straw, sawdust and bran, and some phosphate fertilizer, humus and other materials can also be added to it. After adjusting the planting material, add an appropriate amount of water and ferment for about three weeks before placing it in a plastic bag. Then put it in a high temperature environment for sterilization. After completing these preparations, you can start the inoculation of mycelium. The main method of inoculation is to inoculate both ends, then cover with film and soil, compact it, place it flat on the bed, and finally sprinkle water and soil appropriately. The fruiting bodies will grow out in about a month.

3. Management during the fruiting period. The fruiting body of morels can generally grow in an environment of 10-18 degrees. If it exceeds this range, the growth of the fruiting body will be obviously hindered, and its optimal temperature is 12-15 degrees. After the fruiting body grows, we must pay attention to controlling the light. Light is very important for the formation of the fruiting body. Especially when the fruiting body is developing, light is essential to provide the morels with the right amount of scattered light. The intensity of scattered light also has a certain relationship with the color of the fruiting body. If the light is deep, the color of the morels will be darker, otherwise it will be weaker. During the fruiting period, it is enough to provide about 30% of the light for the morels.

4. Ventilation and moisture. When the morel fruiting bodies are growing, attention should be paid to controlling the moisture content of the soil and keeping it at about 60%. Only a suitable moisture content can ensure the normal growth of morels. The entire mushroom shed must maintain a humid environment. It is best to keep the humidity at about 88%. Then we also need to do a good job in ventilation, because morels are an aerobic fungus, so there must be sufficient oxygen in the mushroom shed. Shade nets should be opened appropriately every morning and evening to provide proper ventilation to maintain air quality.
