Bauhinia blakeana, scientific name: Bauhinia blakeana, also known as red-flowered Bauhinia, red-flowered goat's foot armor, for the genus of goat's foot armor of the subfamily Sumac, evergreen medium trees, for the city of Hong Kong's flower. Leaf blade is round, broadly ovate or kidney-shaped, but the tip is split into two halves, resembling a sheep's foot armor, hence the name. Flowering between winter and spring, the flower is as big as a palm, slightly fragrant, five petals evenly arranged in whorls, red or pink, very beautiful. Bauhinia evergreen lush, quite resistant to soot, especially suitable for street trees; bark contains tannins, can be used as tannin and dyes; roots, bark and flowers can also be used as medicine.
Light-loving. Not very cold, like fertile, moist soil, avoid waterlogging. Strong sprouting, resistant to pruning.
Origin and distribution are produced in the Yellow River basin of China. Easy to grow, most parts of China can be planted. Shaanxi, Gannan, Xin, Sichuan, Tibet, Qian, Yunnan, Guangdong, Gui and other places are cultivated.
