1. The aroma is too strong. Compared with the environment outside and on the balcony, the space at home is still smaller and narrower, and the air circulation in the space is too slow. Osmanthus fragrans emits a strong aroma when it grows and blooms, and there is very little sunlight indoors, there is no photosynthesis, and it is unable to release oxygen. For people with skin allergies and poor breathing, it is a torture.
2. Homophones are unlucky. Osmanthus has been homophonic as "ghost flower" since ancient times. In China’s cultural traditions and various stories over the years, the word ghost makes people shudder and think of hell scenes. Especially if there are people of the older generation living in the family, they will be more concerned about this cultural insinuation. This is one of the main reasons why most families cannot grow osmanthus.
3. Feudal superstition. In addition to the homophony, the ancients also wrote in a series of Feng Shui books such as "Yin Yang House Classic" that the osmanthus tree is a sign of misfortune in the home, which will cause unlucky things to happen and may also lead to quarrels. Osmanthus also emits pollen, which is like a stimulant. Spreading it around symbolizes infidelity.
4. Uncomfortable growth. The entire Osmanthus plant itself likes to grow in a humid environment, with warm light, ventilation and breathability. No matter how big your home is, it is indoors after all, and the air circulation is not very good, and the refraction of light through the glass will be greatly weakened, which cannot satisfy the normal growth of the sweet-scented osmanthus tree.
