From a poem by the Tang Dynasty poet Meng Jiao, "After the Enrollment in the Academy".
Originally:
The former sordidness is not enough to boast of, but the present debauchery is endless.
The spring breeze is so strong that the horse's hooves are fast, and I can see all the flowers of Chang'an in one day.
Translation:
The past days of hardship are no longer worth mentioning, and today's success in the examination of the gold list makes one's spirit soar.
It is like enjoying all the famous flowers in the capital in one day.
