Introduction of Franchise Program:
Development of KFC in China
KFC entered Beijing, the ancient capital with a long food culture, in 1987, thus beginning her development history in the country with the world's largest population.
On November 12, 1987, KFC opened its first restaurant in China in the bustling Qianmen district of Beijing. Taking this as a starting point, KFC began to feel and learn from Chinese society and market, and gradually created a management model with Chinese characteristics. In 1992, the total number of restaurants nationwide was 10; by 1995, it had grown to 71. On June 25, 1996, KFC China's 100th restaurant was established in Beijing. This was a milestone that marked the beginning of a more steady development of KFC in China.
At the same time, the image of KFC in the minds of Chinese consumers grew. 1999, according to a survey conducted by the world-renowned ACNielsen research firm in 30 cities in China with 16,677 questionnaires, KFC, the first western fast food restaurant to enter the Chinese market, was recognized by Chinese consumers as the "most frequently visited" by customers because of its unique cuisine and quality. KFC is recognized by Chinese consumers as the "most frequently patronized" brand in China and tops the list of the top 10 internationally renowned brands in the country because of its unique cuisine and quality.
With the gradual enrichment of the company's management experience, the continuous growth of the staff and the improvement of the operating system, KFC has greatly accelerated its growth in the 21st century. In October 2001, it reached 500 restaurants, in February 2002 it reached 600 restaurants, and 11 months later the total number of restaurants was 800 restaurants. To date, KFC has opened more than 1,000 restaurants in more than 200 cities throughout China, leading the Chinese restaurant industry. Not only that, KFC China has also been maintaining good economic performance. KFC's Chinese headquarters, Yum Brands China, has topped the top 100 restaurants in China for three consecutive years, with a turnover of 7.1 billion yuan in 2002. The vast majority of that came from KFC.
In the past 16 years, KFC has been y rooted in China, forming a high-quality team and a complete management system. At the same time, KFC China has grown to become the largest and most profitable No. 1 brand in China's food and beverage industry, playing an important role in promoting the development of the industry as a whole.

How to Apply to Franchise
Our rigorous selection process allows both parties to scrutinize the facts and figures. The following are details that our franchisees should know
01-Benefits of Franchising
KFC's franchising in China is a franchise that doesn't start from scratch
"Not from scratch" is a franchise that doesn't start from scratch
"Not from scratch" is a franchise that doesn't start from scratch
This is a franchise that doesn't start from scratch. A "no-start-from-scratch" franchise is when KFC resells an established, profitable restaurant to a franchisee. The difference with the usual franchise model is that the franchisee doesn't have to start from scratch and avoids having to do a lot of the heavy lifting of choosing a site, opening a store, and recruiting, training, and managing employees on their own, where deciding where to open a store is often the key to success. By taking over a profitable KFC restaurant from Yum China, the franchisee's risk is greatly reduced, improving the chances of success.
KFC is a global brand and we believe that a 'not from scratch' franchise in China is the best way to start at this stage. It ensures that the franchisee is integrated into KFC's standard management system as soon as possible, and **** the same development.

03-Long-term partnership
This is a long-term partnership
The first time of the Franchise Agreement term is at least ten years. Prospective franchisees must voluntarily engage in KFC franchising for at least ten years.
04-Investment Requirements
The initial investment is different for each franchisee
The new franchisee will be authorized to operate one KFC restaurant in operation, and the acquisition cost of each restaurant will be at least 8 million RMB (including all renovation of the restaurant, equipment, profits, leases, and employee transfers, but excluding real estate purchases). ).
Franchisees can arrange their own financing. However, our franchisees will invest no less than 70% of their own funds in the program.
The following fees are consistent for all franchisees
A franchise initial fee is payable at the beginning of a franchise, which is a one-time fee with some adjustments based on the U.S. price index for the current year, and is also payable by each franchisee when developing a new store.
Ongoing operating expenses include franchise royalties and advertising share fees. These rates and fees are set on a current basis and remain unchanged for ten years after the signing of the franchise contract.
05-Selection of Franchise Areas
Selection of Franchise Areas
Based on the needs of Yum China's overall development in China, we have selected existing KFC restaurants, located in different provinces, to be offered to qualified franchise applicants to choose from.
Currently, we offer franchise opportunities in small and medium-sized cities in China where KFC restaurants are already open, and as with all of our international standard franchise agreements, all franchisees do not have exclusive rights to areas or business districts.
06-Pre- and post-franchise training
Training is a key success factor
Successful candidates will be required to participate in an extensive 13-week training program prior to operating a restaurant. 13 weeks of restaurant training gives franchisees an effective grasp of what they need to know about running a successful restaurant in terms of shift management, leading a restaurant, and other courses, as well as learning about various work stations, such as burger work stations, fries work stations, and other work stations. It also includes classes on individual workstations such as burger workstations, fries workstations and more.
After the franchisee takes over the restaurant, a long-term restaurant management internship is arranged. During the training process, the prospective franchisee will cover his or her own expenses (transportation costs, living expenses).
07-Commitment from both sides
This is a big commitment for both sides
It is very important for you to be clear that this is a big commitment for both sides before you get a franchise opportunity from us.
The capital you are committing is substantial and at risk. Before you start, we would urge you to seek some independent financial guidance.
Similarly, this is a long-term business partnership of at least ten years for our company. Because of this, we will only begin working together if we are completely satisfied with your organization, financial situation, and project plan. The entire time process of application, training, and review takes about six months.
Note: Currently open for franchising does not use owned stores/locations to open new stores, if you have an owned store to recommend, you are welcome to contact your local branch development department.
