Easy way to pack rice dumplings for beginners:
Tools/materials: rice dumpling leaves, glutinous rice, rope.
Methods/Steps:
1, pick two rice dumpling leaves, so that the smooth side of the leaves face up. Convex the leaves into a funnel shape with your hand about one-third of the way from the petiole; the underside of the funnel must be tight or the rice will leak.
2. Add an appropriate amount of glutinous rice to one-half of the funnel, and press it down with a spoon to fill the bottom more.
3. Add glutinous rice again and press it down with a spoon to make it flush with the mouth of the funnel. You can't add too little so that the dumplings don't look dried out, or too much so that they don't fall apart during the cooking process.
4. Press down the leaves at the top to cover the funnel surface. Hands will gently press down the two sides of the rice dumpling leaves, wrapped tightly. Fold the tips of the leaves to one side.
5. Tie the dumplings with a string. The whole process should be pressed by hand, if not careful the glutinous rice will leak out.
