CLANNAD OVA "Another World - Tomoyo Episode"
Kyoto announced the production of the clannad Tomoyo Episode in March 2008 in magazines and on the official TBS website, and the new story "Tomoyo Edit", which is completely different from the main part of the TV anime, was included as a special feature on the "CLANNAD" DVD Volume 8 (final volume). A small advance screening of 400 people was held at the theater on May 31st, and TBS released a teaser trailer for the Jiyo episode on its official website on June 6th.
The Jiyo Episode tells part of the Jiyo line of the Gakuen chapter in a mere 24 minutes, but Kyoto has given us a very good clip of the Jiyo Episode -- one that conveys a great deal of information with its language, its natural setting, and the delicate portrayal of the characters' inner workings. In a sense, this can be considered a successful "adaptation". The climax of this piece is the fairytale-like ending: on the silvered Sakamichi Road, in the midst of a flurry of snow, and to Ana's melodious tune, Tomoyo and Tomoya finally embrace.
