The Huaihai Campaign, called "Xu Bang Battle" by the Kuomintang, was a strategic offensive campaign against Kuomintang troops by the East China Field Army and the Central Plains Field Army of the China People's Liberation Army in Xuzhou as the center, Haizhou (Lianyungang) in the east, Shangqiu in the west, Lincheng in the north (now Xuecheng in Zaozhuang City) and Huaihe River in the south during the Liberation War.
The Huaihai Campaign began on 1948 1 1 6/and ended on 1949 1 0/0/0. Liu Zhi, the general headquarters of Xuzhou Anti-Banditry, commanded five regiments, 22 armies, 56 divisions and one regiment of the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China.
Huaihai Campaign is the second of the three major campaigns, and it is also the battle with the heaviest sacrifice, the largest number of enemy annihilation, the greatest political influence and the most complicated war style.
