Origin: This product is the dried tuberous root of Anemone Semiaquilegia adoxoides (DC.) Makino of the family of Buttercups. It is harvested in early summer, washed, dried, and the fibrous roots removed.

Traits: the product is irregular short columnar, fusiform or tuberous, slightly curved, 1-3cm long, 0.5-1cm in diameter, the surface is dark brown to gray-black, with irregular wrinkles and fibrous roots or fibrous root scars. The tip often has stem and leaf remnants, covered with several layers of yellow-brown sheath-like scales. The texture is soft, easy to break, the broken surface of the skin part of the white, wood part of the yellow-white or yellow-brown, slightly radial. The flavor is sweet, slightly bitter and pungent.
