How many days can litchi be kept fresh by mail?
Litchi can be kept fresh for two to three days by mail. Litchi needs to be added with a special ice pack when mailing, which can keep litchi fresh. How to preserve litchi in transportation

1. Store at room temperature

If litchi is not added with any preservatives, it will all brown in 5-7 days. At present, it is generally preserved at room temperature, combined with the antiseptic effect of drugs to achieve the purpose of preservation. Preservatives that can be popularized include benomyl, benomyl, carbendazim, bactericide, ammonium phosphate, Tektronix, chlorpheniramine and so on. Large-scale productive storage and transportation at room temperature often can't get the due fresh-keeping effect, and the fresh-keeping period is only about 1 week, which is suitable for short-term storage and transportation of about 5 days.

2. Spontaneous controlled atmosphere storage at low temperature

This method requires that the temperature does not fluctuate violently during storage and the carbon dioxide does not exceed 10%. 3. Low temperature storage

Litchi fruits with consistent maturity and no diseases and insect pests were selected, sealed in plastic boxes and stored at low temperature. The good fruit rate is 85%-88% when stored at 5℃ for 30 days, but litchi is prone to chilling injury when stored at 1℃ for 30-35 days. The chilling injury caused by storage at 5℃ for 30-30 days is reversible, and the fruit quality can be restored after returning to normal temperature. During cold storage, special attention should be paid to the constant storage temperature and the time from harvest to storage should not exceed 12 hours. Small packages should be used and should not be opened during storage.

4. Fill the foam box with ice

The whole process requires careful operation, quick action and light loading, and it is required to be completed within 4-6 hours from fruit picking to loading. The storage and transportation technology of litchi with ice in foam box was adopted. Generally, after three days and three nights of transportation, litchi still maintains its original bright red color and flavor. The good fruit rate is over 93%, and the water loss is less than 3%. However, it is easy to cause the fruit to be destroyed by carbon dioxide and odor, so it is only suitable for short-distance transportation for 3-4 days to ensure the sales time of 2-3 days after arrival.
