Stewed mushrooms with chicken is a traditional delicacy when entertaining distinguished guests in Northeast China. Chickens should be old hens with at least one year's "childbearing age", and mushrooms should be hazelnuts or mushrooms, which are dried every other year, so as to stew delicious taste.
Hazelnut mushroom, as the fruiting body of Armillaria mellea, is one of the unique mountain treasures in Daxing 'anling, and is called the "fourth treasure in Northeast China". It is usually born on Hazelnut Hill in shallow mountainous areas, so it is named as "Hazelnut Mushroom". It is one of the few wild fungi that people have known so far but cannot be cultivated artificially, and it can be called a veritable "mountain treasure".
