Overview: This product is the dried tuber of Bletilla striata (Thunb.) reichb.f. of Orchidaceae. Digging in summer and autumn, removing fibrous roots, cleaning, boiling or steaming in boiling water until there is no white heart, drying in the sun until it is half dry, removing the skin and drying in the sun.

Alias: Baigen, Baigei, Baiji and Gangen.

Sexual taste and meridian tropism: bitter, sweet, astringent, slightly cold. Enter lung, liver and stomach meridians.

Functions and indications: astringing to stop bleeding, reducing swelling and promoting granulation. Used for hemoptysis and hematemesis, traumatic hemorrhage, sores and swelling, and chapped skin; Pulmonary tuberculosis hemoptysis, ulcer bleeding.

Usage and dosage: 6 ~15g, ground and swallowed 3 ~ 6g. Appropriate amount for external use. It is not suitable to be used with Aconitum.
