Three Days in Changsha
When it comes to Changsha, what we remember most is Chairman Mao and food. Changsha has many cuisines that are famous all over the world, such as Changsha stinky tofu, Changsha sausage and so on. The phrase "coming to Changsha without eating stinky tofu is a waste of time, nominated by Chairman Mao himself" must be advertised in your head. So if you only have three days to go to Changsha, how should we play?

Previously very little understanding of this aspect of Changsha travel guide, mainly because Changsha is not a tourist city, so the introduction is limited. Today it just so happened that someone asked me, so I just made up a travel guide.

In Changsha, you can go to Yuelu Mountain, Orange Island, Pedestrian Street, and Jinggang Ancient Town in the distance at night!

The following is a simple three-day itinerary plan, just for reference.

Day 1:

Morning go to Yuelu Mountain, Hexi University City (Zhongnan, Huda, Normal University), Orange Island (if there is still time);

Afternoon go to Ningxiang Huangcai Songcheng Tanhe Ancient City (recommended)

Night to enjoy the musical fountains of Meixi Lake;

The next day:

Changsha Bamboo Briefing Museum Morning Boat Hill Society

In the afternoon Taiping Old Street, Chaozong Old Street, Dufu Jiangge;

In the evening, stroll around Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street, and go to Nanmenkou to eat all kinds of snacks;

The third day:

In the morning, go to Tianxin Pavilion, Baisa Ancient Wells;

In the afternoon, visit the old campus of the First Teacher's College (a good place to take photos), which is the place where Chairman Mao Zedong studied and worked. The president spent eight years here. The academy was formerly known as Chengnan Academy in the Southern Song Dynasty. Mao studied in Classroom 8 of the academy and later taught in Classroom 22.

Most hotels in Changsha pay for disposables, which come in packs of 5 yuan and 10 yuan, so it is advisable to bring your own towels and slippers for toiletries.

There are many choices for accommodation in Changsha, from BB hotels to various star hotels. We recommend staying near Wuyi Square, Pozi Street, etc. If you follow our recommended itinerary above, stay at Wuyi Square.

The weekend fireworks show at Orange Island takes place every Saturday night from May 1 to October 31 every year and lasts 20 minutes. If people go now (which is the end of October, you're in for a treat).

Tanhe Ancient City in Ningxiang has a lot to offer and is particularly interesting and worth a visit. And the trip to Changsha on the same day will not be affected (this can be arranged in the fourth day of the trip).

The entrance fee to Taiping Old Street is free, and you can walk to Jia Yi's former residence not far from Taiping Street:

9:00-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-16:30 p.m. Register for the tour with your ID card.

It is recommended that you bring your ID card with you when you travel.

Jiayi's former residence is known as "the source of Hunan culture", and the interior of the residence is also the iconic cultural heritage of Changsha as the "hometown of the Qu family". It's not very big, so you can visit it in half an hour.

Climate of Changsha

October to May is the best season to visit Changsha. Except for the high temperatures in the height of summer, the other three seasons in Changsha are suitable for traveling. Spring in Changsha begins after mid-February. At this time, the climate is changeable. Tourists would rather wear more clothes to prevent catching a cold. By the end of May, summer comes and Changsha is known as a furnace, but even in the mountains, you need to cover up to sleep. Autumn begins in mid-August and the temperature is usually around 15 to 20. At this time of the year, the fall is high enough to enjoy the red leaves of Orange Island. Winter arrives in late November with average temperatures around 5 and sometimes snow. You can go to the mountains to see the ice at this time.
