The shelf life of Puerh tea is related to the variety of tea. Different Pu'er tea has different shelf life. For example, Yunnan's Puerh tea has a shelf life of 10-20 years. If it is raw tea, the shelf life of 10-25 years. If it is ripe tea, the shelf life is 8-15 years. Pu'er tea is mainly produced in Menghai, Mengla, Pu'er, Gengma, Cangyuan, Shuangjiang, Lincang, Yuanjiang, Jindong, Dali, Pingbian, Hekou, Maguan, Malipo, Wenshan, Xichou and other places in Yunnan. New Pu'er tea is fresh in appearance, mostly yellow-green with white hairs and strong flavor. Aged tea will have a purplish red appearance and the white hairs will turn yellowish brown. Puerh tea can be divided into two categories: loose tea and tight tea. For Puerh loose tea, the traditional categories are Mao Jian Tea and Coarse Leaf.
